I just happened across your blog and read through your Carnival Cruise. I had to laugh. Our first cruise was about the same trip you took. Ours was really good. I forget what time of year we went but the weather was good and we had no problems. Eight cruises later, have I got stories to tell! In Cayman we snorkeled and swam with the stingrays, this was before the nature guy got speared by one. I would have like to have seen some of the Island there. In Jamiaca we went to Dunns River Falls as well. We had elected to climb the falls. My husband was literally PUSHING me up the falls with about 500 other people simultaneously while natives were popping out of the trees trying to sell us pot! I was a very strenuous climb and I was in good shape back then! Afterward they dropped us back at the village and we were deluged by natives trying to force us to buy stuff. I feel sorry for them, but I do not want to go back to Jamaica. All in all we did have a great time, the food, weather and staff were great. Like I said, we've taken eight Carnival trips since then. I'd like to check out another line some day. Enjoyed your post!
Hi, Neither of us were in any shape to climb the falls although that was still offered. The group that came after us from our ship had someone slip and break their ankle or leg...but that can happen.
All things considered, I'd probably go on another cruise...but not with family other than my wife...and not a 7 day cruise...maybe a 5 day.
I have to admit I wasn't impressed with the whole Carnival experience.
